Saturday July 28th, 2007 more!!

I loveeeeeeee being a puppy. And I loveeeeee exploring Toronto. Today we went out and we spent almost 6 hours out and about Toronto. We found a new park and new friends at St. Joseph's St. & Bay St. I had so much fun..... This is part of the University of Toronto.

Here I'm telling my mom to hurry up and take a picture. I want to play!! These two boys are full of fun waiting to happen and I have little patience when it comes to waiting to play.

This is the 3 of us.... are we not cute? Furballs. We played and played and played while the people talked and talked and talked.

This is my new friends Mom. She's beautiful. She comes from a place called Hungry. She picked me up so mom could get this picture. I really liked her and her boys. She told my mom what time she is usually at this park so we can all meet again and have more play time.

After we played there for a nice long time and met a couple more puppies to play with we went over to Toronto's New City Hall. It's not really new, but there's an old one too.

Check this place out!! Mom and Nanna stopped over on the grass for some lunch and I played and played some more. There are lots of what mom calls "tourists" there. Tons of people coming off buses and lots more just sitting around looking at this pretty place. After all this water a girl almost has to cross her little legs!

After that we went back to the park we started out at and I found fun people!! They played with me for some time before going. I think they had as much fun as I did.

Next...... it was off to do groceries. Nanna waited outside for mom as she ran into the store. Next..... off to Allen Gardens on the way home. There were no big doggies!!! YIPPIE!! Lots of little doggies and Terri the poodle wanted to play up a storm. We rocked and rolled and jumped all over each other. If I could laugh I would have. Her siblings just hung around while we had tons of fun.

Finally..... after a really long day out and about we went home. Next stop before we got home was to go talk to a lady about having something called a "Birthday Party" for a man that goes to mom's Seniors program. He is turning 102 in August!! 102!! Wow..... can you believe it? And he still goes out and makes friends! The lady knew the day of this man's Birthday so mom needed it to have his party on his special day. She thought she had the day right but needed to confirm it. I got lots of attention there too. Everyone likes to snuggle with me and pat me :-)

Mom and Nanna thought for sure I'd conk out as soon as we went home but as usual, I had news for them. I played and jumped on mom and stole Nanna's date book. After a while around 10 pm I finally curled up by the refrigerator and snoozed until mom had her late night snack...... then of course I woke up just to bite her toe and bug her. For some reason I'm facinated with mom's big toe when she is trying to have her late night snack while watching the news.... hehehe

I wonder what they have in store for me on Sunday?????????

Salad Head!!! wahhhh

My mom is so mean. She has nicknamed me "salad head". I forgot to mention this earlier. Friday night Mom and Nanna went to one of their favourite restaurants named Cranberries and they got the Friday night special. According to mom and nanna, the best fish and chips in town. And it comes with a salad. They don't share with me!! So, when I noticed something dripping on the kitchen floor of course I went and inspected it.

It turned out Nanna had a bit of salad left (bad girl, she didn't eat all her veggies) and the take out container was tipped a bit in the garbage bag so it was dripping. Well.... one of my jobs is to keep the floor clean! So of course I did my job but my mom saw me by the garbage and came running. No, no, no she said as I lapped up all the drops of salad dressing heheheheh. What she didn't know until around midnight that night was while I was lapping up the drips already on the floor the stupid container was dripping away on my head! Now my fur smells like salad dressing and my fur is stringy. Mom is going to have to bathe me. So that's why she calls me "salad head".

Bizzzyyyy bizzyyyyy

My mom has been keeping me so bizzyyyyyyy. When she's finally away from the computer I'm too pooped to participate from scootering around the city and playing in the parks.

Last Sunday we went to Hanlan's Point. One of Toronto's 3 Islands. Wow..... wow..... bow wow.... trees...... grass...... yummy grass!! Oh joy oh joy, I had such fun. Mom BBQ chicken and it smelled so great but I wasn't allowed any but a little lick of it after the fact. I'm not allowed people food really and especially at the table. Mom and nanna want me to have manners when I'm finished being trained so I can go visit other people's homes later.

Here are some pictures mom took.... In the one on the left I'm playing with my leash. I really like to do this. It pulls mom or nanna off balance sometimes.... weeeeeee and in the one on the right is me, all tangled up in my leash. This happens a lot too when I get wild and run around all over the place in circles and jump. It's ok though, someone always untangles me quickly.

In these pictures below you can see how much fun I'm having over on the island. I'm just everywhere. I'm still too young to be off my leash. I just turned 4 months old on the 23rd of this month and I don't come when I'm called most of the time. There is way too much to explore over here so mom knows I won't come if called. Too much other exciting things to look and sniff at.

In the picture on the left that upside down plate had some of my food on it. And the little clear plastic square dish was my water dish. Mom put that and the food on the plate for me and after I ate the food I tossed the dishes.... I had such fun with them. I pounced on the plate and ran around with the water dish in my mouth. Can you see what a piggie I am becoming? I gained 2 lbs (1 kilo) last month and now weight a whole 7 lbs or 3.2 kilos.... tubby :-)

In the right picture I am pouncing on and playing with my favourite ball. This old, now battered, orange squeeky ball.

By the end of the day I was a dirty little doggie.... Mom tried to get a picture of my icky face but I didn't want to hold still. It was all green and black from grabbing at the grass by the roots and running with it. And from rolling around all over the place having fun.

Through the week we went all around and mom had her "Senior's Social"..... Mom runs a program for about 50 seniors every month and Thursday was a special day for them because that's when they all sit down and have a really nice dinner. Mom has "Celebrity Chefs" to her dinners and that's fun. Well it's fun until they make me go upstairs and in my crate for the dinner. yuck..... the food smells really great and I'm not allowed to stay once the food and the seniors gets there.

On Friday we went to Riverdale Park and I had the bestest time there this time. At first we had to leave the part of the park we were at. Over by the kiddies pond because someone had a party and all over the ground were bits and pieces of balloons and I found and tried to eat one. Mom got upset at the people and took the balloon part from me. We then moved over to the other end of the park and there was a little people baby there for me to play with. We had fun. He was there playing with his daddy. Then along came a cute little Terrier named Lucy and Lucy was about the same age as me so we played for more than a half hour, running and jumping on each other and playing up a storm. The people baby was laughing at us and clapping his hands. I liked Lucy.

During the week we also went to Allen's Gardens but mom thinks that we won't be going there as much as we used to. At least not to the part where most the doggies are, in the leash off part. There are too many big dogs and they scare me. The people don't watch their dogs when they are off their leash either. One big black doggie was trying to do naughties with all the other doggies and every time I tried to peepee he would come up to me and mom had to grab me fast so he didn't try anything with me. His dad was not paying any attention to him as he went from one doggy to another and jumping on them from behind. Naughty naughty. And the big doggies bark really loud when they rough play and it scares me. So..... mom is going to start to take me over to the other part of the park where I can still meet some little doggies and play there. It's not leash off but that doesn't matter for me because I'm not allowed off my leash yet.

Mom says someone needs to tell the other people that leash off doesn't mean ignore your dog. And it doesn't mean that it's for big doggies only :-( We have seen other people take their little doggies elsewhere because the big ones don't behave and the parents ignore what they are doing. Bad parents!!

Later Saturday.....

We went to Queen's Park Circle but we didn't know there was a parade that day for our Indian Culture here so there were too many people. They have built a new Hindu Temple in Toronto and it's .... well I don't know the words for it. It's all hand built of marble, hand carved and put together piece by piece like a puzzle by hundreds of volunteers and is the most majestic and beautiful structure you'll ever lay eyes on. Mom found a link to it on the web and some pictures of it too. The parade was to rejoice in it's opening this weekend. You can see more about this here: Hindu Temple

Mom took some pictures of the parade and there's more on my flickr page too. Mom says she will add them there later after she resizes them.

And the park wasn't really that clean either for some reason so we headed out exploring other places. We stayed to watch the parade though :-) It was beautiful! So many people and so many colours! Wow!! Bow wow!! I loved it.

Later we stopped at a nice grassy area by our major hospitals...... really big buildings!! Mom and nanna had a vendor hot dog and I wanted some too but all I got was my puppy kibble and water. Want to see my water face??? Here it is..... in the first one I'm looking up at my nanna. She was trying to hold my face straight for mom to take a pic but I love my nanna and I was letting her know that. My mouth and chin are soaked..... :-) And in the other pic I'm smiling at mom.

Sat.!!!!!!! I'm finally caught up.

Mom is busy with other stuff this morning so we can go out BBQ'ing tomorrow on the Islands :-) I'm not allowed people food but mom will bring my food and lots of toys for me to play with.

I added a couple of links here today you should check out. In my "Links we Like" section on the menu on the right you will see "Odie's Pics"......... Odie is adorable and you will love the pictures there. And I also added a link to "cute overload". This is a really cute and funny site. The pictures are the best!

Well..... I'm going because mom has some errands to do and then I get to go to a new park today. If we have time we are going to Queen's Park Circle!!! Wowie.......

Friday July 20th, 2007

It was an eventful day today. Some good and some bad. This is the good! We went to Allen Gardens again today. We usually go at least once a day to this park. There are usually lots of doggies to play with.

Today though there were some really spunky bigger doggies and they scared me with all their play fighting and big loud barking so I took off and hid on the floor of my nanna's scooter. Here I am, I'm smart, I'm smiling because I'm hiding!! And of course my wonderful nanna is protecting me too.

After a bit on the scooter I was getting tired. I'm still sleeping a good portion of the day so my little head started to get heavy.....

Bonk....... out like a light for a bit......
After I woke up and played a bit with a couple of the smaller doggies and lots of the peoples we went to my favourite pet store. Bobo's!!! I needed new rawhide. The ones they sell are organic and much better for my little tummy. Mom read some of those other ones out there on the market and didn't like what she saw in the ingredients. Some even have stuff in them that will stain the carpet! Yuck Yuck Yukky...... I don't want to eat anything like that.
When we were at Bobo's we were talking to the owner and mom told him about my experience with my Dr. and how I didn't like the clippers. He said that if I ever do that again my mom should hold me down until I quiet down. He showed her how to do it and when he did..... I growled and tried to nip him! Oh boy, that didn't go over well because he then got serious and held me down. I quieted down after that, I didn't like it but mom says it was necessary. I was naughty :-(

Tuesday July 17th, 2007

My mom took a nice long day off everything and her and my nanna and I went all the way down to Lower Spadina and Queens Quay and spent a lot of the day at the Music Garden.

This is the entrance of the Music Garden. Well not really the entrance but it's a big part of it. On weekends there is a Chamber Music group that plays here!!

This is one of many pathways throughout the Music Garden. Each path is filled with lots of types of flowers and plants.

All these flowers and plants attract other things.......

Like this little guy!!! Mom says this is a bumble bee and to watch out because if you aggravate him he can hurt you. I don't want to be hurt so I just stayed in mom's basket and watched him.

He is awful cute though :-)

There's thousands and thousands of flowers. These are only some of them. If you want to see more of my day and what we saw at the music garden scroll down and click on my 'flickr' badge in the menu on the right of my blog. :-)

And last but certainly not least..... this is "Charlie". Charlie is a Heron and we discovered him over by Harbourfront. The man beside him says he visits every day and just sits there with him. Charlie doesn't mind people for some reason but you can only get so close to him. About 4 feet away then he gets a bit nervous. Charlie was really nice, and he posed for pictures for us too. I stayed very quiet and didn't bark. I was a good doggy.

Dirty face....... (Monday the 16th evening)

Today was not the greatest day for me. I went to see my Vet whom I just love but all things didn't go so well. He clipped my toenails for me and I liked that! I really needed it too. And he gave me the last of all my needles and I was good for that too! But....... he then decided it was time to clip my fur on my face a bit because it was getting so long and boy oh boy....... I growled like mom's never heard before when that clipper went on. And I barked..... loud..... and I lunged at one of my favourite humans and snapped at him! He couldn't keep me still and had to muzzle me for a bit. I was a bad girl for him. I don't like the clippers.

Later that day I just layed around and I even threw up a bit. Last time I got my shots I did too. :-( That night though I was fine and we went to the park and I found me a nice patch of dirt and rolled in it!! hehehehe mom had a fit. She took some pictures to try to get my dirty little face but you really can't see it in these.

I'm starting to like a dirty face and patches of dirt :-)

Sunday in the park :-) Sunday July 15th, 2007

Playing catch up as usual. I wish mom could get me my own computer... hehehe I wish I could reach her laptop! She keeps a lot of things out of my reach.... I wonder why???

We went to Allen Garden's again this Sunday. I really like it there, there are lots of other doggies there. A lot of them are big older dogs that are not into playing with puppies with lots of energy but there are also small dogs and puppies there too. Today I met Noa. She is only 3 months old and is a chocolate coloured Standard Poodle. We got along great and we played and played together for about 45 minutes. Boy I had such a good time with Noa. I can't wait to see her again. Her daddy said that I was the first puppy she really got to play with and he was glad we met too.

Later Saturday the 14th....

Later that night I calmed down and Nanna gave me a new treat she bought me at Bobo's. It's an all natural beef rawhide and I loveeeeee these things. It takes me weeks to get through one and I take this everywhere I go in the apt. I even take it to my crate every night. Mom allows me a toy (my rope toy) and my chewy in my crate at night in case I can't get to sleep right away. Usually I do though. Mom is really proud of me and how I learned to crate and that I even go in there myself when I want to nap at times. That is when I'm not layed out across the front of the fridge :-)

Saturday July 14th, 2007 Still catching up.....

ok....... so just how embarrassed do I look? What is it with these people? First mom buys me a new hair clip at Bobo's and then of all things we go somewhere else and in the store what does she discover there?????? A stupid raincoat. Who cares if it's raining cats and dogs out there. I'm nice and dry under mom's raincoat, it goes right over mom's scooter and the basket so I'm perfectly dry but she has to go and buy this thing and worse...... she made me wear it...... eeeeeeekkkkkkk

As you can see, I'm not amused when I finally got home and I couldn't get this thing off me fast enough. A lot of the pictures didn't come out that mom took of me trying to get this off because I was moving so fast.

I got a new toy!!! (Friday July 13th, 2007)

My mom finally got away from the computer. She hogs it a lot lately. I'm playing catch up again! This is me on Friday the 13th. While we were out we dropped into the Menagerie. We did this because I'm still driving my humans nutso because I go on my pee pad once then somewhere else the next time so we went to the Menagerie in search of this stuff to spray where they want me to go! The got the stuff to spray where they don't want me to go now it seem's they have stuff to spray where they do want me to go! Wow...... the puppy business is the business to be in, we found the stuff.... it was $20.00 and when mom got it home she discovered it's pretty much only amonia. She says it better work or she's writing the company. She's real good at that. :-)

While at the Menagerie she found me this really neat ball. It has knobs all over it and I just love it. It's nice and hard rubber and feels just like my kong and it is even coloured like my kong. I'm having lots of fun with this.

Thursday July 20th, 2007

Wow oh wow..... I met the most handsome little boy today!! His name is Alfie. Alfie lives only a few blocks from me. Imagine that! He is Maltese and poodle and sweet as sugar. I invited him in to the scooter basket with me and his dad is here helping him in since he can't jump that high.

Ohhhhh Alfie..... he is so affectionate.

I'm just goofy over Alfie. I hope I'm spelling his name right, my mom didn't think to ask his dad if it starts with an "A" or an "E". I mean, I know I'm good, and that I can type too but geez mom, I can't talk yet.
I hope Alfie's dad comes to this blog and see's his pictures and comments. If you do pop in Alfie's Dad..... *smooch* to Alfie. I hope we see each other again so we can play together.
This thing is really hard to use. Every time I put my pictures in they go all over the place and knock my words all over too. It's nuts. Being a puppy that types is hard enough.

Sunday July 8th, 2007

Do you believe this? Check out the pink in my hair. It's only pink now but when it started it was beet red!

While we were out shopping on Saturday this lady just fell in love with me and had to kiss me......... and she had red red lipstick on which obviously wasn't the kind made to stick on for the day!

After she kissed my little head she exclaimed "Oh, I got my lipstick on her"! Duh..... so I went around with a big red blotch on my head for the rest of the day.

In these pics my mom had already brushed my hair a lot so it was just pink now. Nothing would take it out and it's now Monday and it's still there. What is the matter with humans??

Oh, btw, the same day we took that stupid purple ball back to that big named pet place and guess what? They tried to blame it on me! Little me and when that didn't work they tried blaming it on mom. Mom's not going there any more. That's ok, seems everything only has to go back and it's disappointing for me.

Saturday July 7th, 2007

07/07/07....... today must have been my lucky day because we spent lots of time at parks today. We had a couple of not so nice things happen too though. Earlier in the day mom, nanna and I went shopping to an unnamed store but certainly one of the bigger ones and mom bought me some Milkbones. ummmmmm yummy! Logan's dad let me taste one the other day and I loved it. When mom got them home and opened them though she found them yukky buggy!!! She tossed them on the balcony and intends to call the company on Monday.

Next we went to another store, this one a pet supply store that's another big name store and mom had to take a harness back because they turned out badly made and the manufacturer tried to blame it on me when their logo fell off and stuck to my tummy and my mom had to cut it out of my fur :-( When she was there though she bought me a new ball!! Yeahhhhhh I love balls.

After that little escapade we went over to Riverdale Park! I like this place. I ran and ran and ran and chased the little birdies too! I even barked at them. I met a few doggies briefly there and saw an old friend too. And I met a little girl before we went home for dinner.
When we got home for dinner mom gave me my new ball. ummmmm so much for that thing. Within 5 minutes it was worthless and mom was scared I would choke on it. She says it's going back tomorrow!! And she's never shopping in this big named pet supply store any more because their products are not puppy safe. Now I don't have a ball any more :-( Mom says this store should be call P.U. for stinky!!

To make up for that we all went to Allen Gardens for a couple of hours. What fun I had there. I didn't see any of my friends I normally see there but tonight I met two new friends.

In this picture is Oscar. He was a ton of fun and he's so smart! Mom had stopped at No Frills on the way to the park and got me a new box of Milkbones and Oscar sniffed them out!!

Oscar knows lots of tricks, he's 2 years old. Here he was begging for a Milkbone. He really likes them. He sits and begs too. And he rolls over too. Quite talented. I hope I learn some of those tricks one day.

This is a Jack Russell Terrier I met tonight too. He was running all around playing with me and Oscar. He got all tangled up in my leash.

Ooooooooooh Mom called me a bad name tonight. While she was busy I was playing and I ran into the bathroom when she wasn't looking and took the bathmat. My Nanna's NEW bathmat that now has some holes in the back of it!!! oh boy..... mom says Nanna is not going to be happy. Sorry Nanna, I thought it was a toy.

Friday June 6th, 2007

I decided to take yesterday off after systematically driving everyone nutso around here the day before :-) Today I had a bit of fun again though as you can see in the picture. There's something about that nice soft toilet paper.... hehehehehe That's my t-shirt in front of it. I have one of mom's old t-shirts to snuggle up to at night and to run around dragging it everywhere during the day.
