off to the vet!!!

On Wednesday July 14th we took my babies to the vet for their 2nd full exam and their first shots! We had to transport them in my old crate and guess what? They loved it!!! Here are a couple of pictures of them resting and waiting for us to go.
Off we went in a taxi and they enjoyed the ride as much as I do. Good to know they don't get car sick. When we got there mom put me on the scale and I'm down to a svelt 6.6 k's. I've lost all my baby weight and I've only got a bit of milk now too. I don't feed the babies myself much any more. They love the puppy food they are getting. I love it too!! :-)
Since my babies look so much alike Daddy Chris (Grandpa to them) decided to get a felt marker and number my babies in the flap of their ear. We thought this was funny but a good idea. Turns out though that permanent marker isn't so permanent on puppies. Two days later it was gone! lol Mom and Auntie Charlotte had to figure out who was who and renumber us.
All my babies got a great clean bill of health. They had their paws checked, their eyes, their ears, their little hearts and were checked for hernia's too and all were perfect. Mom discussed putting them on kibble now since whenever one escapes it heads right for my bowl and steals a piece of my kibble. He said it was ok. This will mean less wet poop and less poop all together. Yippie!!!
We had a separate folder made for each baby and as they were examined and got their shot, mom weighed them and it was all documented. Their weights are:
#1 = 1.47 kg or 3.2 lbs chunky monkey! This one is Auntie Charlotte's baby and she's named her Precious Lee
# 2 = 1.19 kg or 2.61 lbs
# 3 = 1.04 kg or 2.28 lbs and this one is "SoCute", the one Nanna picked out to keep
# 4 = 1.38 kg or 3.03 lbs and this is our only little boy, another chunky monkey
# 5 = 1.10 kg or 2.4 lbs our other little baby that will be going to Auntie Sheri probably
# 6 = 1.19 kg or 2.61 lbs
When we got home from the Dr. mom decided to give paper a try for training. hahahaha Mom is a silly girl for sure! My babies played and growled, and snarled and ripped up that paper until 3 a.m. Mom got little sleep. I on the other hand was snuggled up in the bathroom snoozing away. Come morning though things took a turn for the better and now this evening (Friday) everyone has seen them get up, leave where they are laying, go to the paper, squat, do their thing, then go back to where they were!! Let's hope this continues :-)

Ready and waiting....

This picture was taken yesterday. 5 of my 6 babies are ready and waiting for their breakfast! #6 is behind the box lol It's gimmie, gimmie, gimmie when it comes to food. They haven't learned any manners yet. At least they've already learned that this is where they wait to get fed.
Mom is seriously considering putting newspaper down at this point. She's really getting tired of mopping the floor 20 times a day and newspapers would make it a bit easier. Then again, when she tried the pee pads they played with them. :-)

Sunday July 11th, 2010 - bathtime!!

Really, these pictures were taken yesterday :-) Mom found some kong balls for my babies and they loved them. They all started playing with them. She only found 2 and will look for more. All my babies showed an interest in them and are still knocking them around.

It was also bath day on Saturday for my 6 little heathens. They really did rather well. Only one squealer and the rest took it great. One shook quite a bit too until it dried a bit. Mom and auntie Charlotte washed them all one at a time with a little bit of baby shampoo then towel dried them well. Then mom used her blow drier on low for a bit to get them mostly dry. They were then put in my old crate so we can keep them all clean until they were all done. As each puppy was being washed I stood below watching them to make sure they did a good job :-) Then I went to the crate with them and waited as they placed each baby in there. I had to make sure they were ok. Auntie Charlotte got a really good idea and put my blanket in there so my babies could smell me.
This is one of my poor wet babies.
Today is Sunday and my babies had a new toy. Uncle Gary came to help mom take all the glass stuff off the wall unit. Last weekend they ripped up all the wall to wall carpet and next weekend Mom is having a new floor installed. Something called Laminate. She says it will stand up to the puppies and me better and when Nanna gets home, it will be easier for her with her walker too. Anyway, Uncle Gary took his sandles off in the kitchen and my babies chewed on them most the day. One actually crawled in on and fell asleep. Mom was going to take a picture because it looked so cute but it woke up before she could get the camera. We love Uncle Gary :-)

More pics.. and how tired is our people mom???

1-2-3-4-5-6!! We hear that a lot around here. Mom is wondering what the neighbours are thinking every time they go by our door and hear her say.. 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 . They must think she's a bit slow and can only count to 6. :-)

Hey!! Mom and my Uncle Brenton and Auntie Katie brought my Nanna home for a wee visit and to pick her puppy on Tuesday!! She picked the holy terror of the bunch. hahaha My little leader of the pack. Tiny but spunky. Here is Nanna and "Socute". (so cute)

My baby is a dirty little girl about to have her first bath. This should be interesting. Mom is disgusted with my babies at times, they pee then run through it. lol This is Nanna holding SoCute. Nanna has ouchie hands but is able to still hold her. :-)

This is us learning how to use pee pads!!
And last but not least....... how tired is our people Mom??? Well she went to see Daddy Chris our Vet and told him we had yukky worms! She said she saw something in our poop and it looked like rice. He asked her if it moved and she said no but since my babies are 5 weeks old now they can be dewormed. He made us up our medicine and some for me too just in case. We got our medicine and the next day Mom is making up the 6 little bowls for breakfast when she looks in the can and guess what? It has rice in the puppy food!! She's been feeding it to the babies for a week and a half and just noticed it had rice in it. Worms... lol blah... get some sleep mom.

What goes in....

Must come out! Oh my, since we started feeding my babies solid food (canned Medi-Cal Preventative) my babies are not only peeing machines but they're pooping machines too! They are very smart though, they don't do their business in the box, the get out, do their business and then get back in the box! Mom is going to start to put down pee pads and see if they will start to try using them. I betcha they play with it instead! Mom is going to take more pictures and give a list of everything other people mom's will need if they plan on having puppies in their homes. She says it's been a real learning experience. :-)
