Sunday July 11th, 2010 - bathtime!!

Really, these pictures were taken yesterday :-) Mom found some kong balls for my babies and they loved them. They all started playing with them. She only found 2 and will look for more. All my babies showed an interest in them and are still knocking them around.

It was also bath day on Saturday for my 6 little heathens. They really did rather well. Only one squealer and the rest took it great. One shook quite a bit too until it dried a bit. Mom and auntie Charlotte washed them all one at a time with a little bit of baby shampoo then towel dried them well. Then mom used her blow drier on low for a bit to get them mostly dry. They were then put in my old crate so we can keep them all clean until they were all done. As each puppy was being washed I stood below watching them to make sure they did a good job :-) Then I went to the crate with them and waited as they placed each baby in there. I had to make sure they were ok. Auntie Charlotte got a really good idea and put my blanket in there so my babies could smell me.
This is one of my poor wet babies.
Today is Sunday and my babies had a new toy. Uncle Gary came to help mom take all the glass stuff off the wall unit. Last weekend they ripped up all the wall to wall carpet and next weekend Mom is having a new floor installed. Something called Laminate. She says it will stand up to the puppies and me better and when Nanna gets home, it will be easier for her with her walker too. Anyway, Uncle Gary took his sandles off in the kitchen and my babies chewed on them most the day. One actually crawled in on and fell asleep. Mom was going to take a picture because it looked so cute but it woke up before she could get the camera. We love Uncle Gary :-)

More pics.. and how tired is our people mom???

1-2-3-4-5-6!! We hear that a lot around here. Mom is wondering what the neighbours are thinking every time they go by our door and hear her say.. 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 . They must think she's a bit slow and can only count to 6. :-)

Hey!! Mom and my Uncle Brenton and Auntie Katie brought my Nanna home for a wee visit and to pick her puppy on Tuesday!! She picked the holy terror of the bunch. hahaha My little leader of the pack. Tiny but spunky. Here is Nanna and "Socute". (so cute)

My baby is a dirty little girl about to have her first bath. This should be interesting. Mom is disgusted with my babies at times, they pee then run through it. lol This is Nanna holding SoCute. Nanna has ouchie hands but is able to still hold her. :-)

This is us learning how to use pee pads!!
And last but not least....... how tired is our people Mom??? Well she went to see Daddy Chris our Vet and told him we had yukky worms! She said she saw something in our poop and it looked like rice. He asked her if it moved and she said no but since my babies are 5 weeks old now they can be dewormed. He made us up our medicine and some for me too just in case. We got our medicine and the next day Mom is making up the 6 little bowls for breakfast when she looks in the can and guess what? It has rice in the puppy food!! She's been feeding it to the babies for a week and a half and just noticed it had rice in it. Worms... lol blah... get some sleep mom.

What goes in....

Must come out! Oh my, since we started feeding my babies solid food (canned Medi-Cal Preventative) my babies are not only peeing machines but they're pooping machines too! They are very smart though, they don't do their business in the box, the get out, do their business and then get back in the box! Mom is going to start to put down pee pads and see if they will start to try using them. I betcha they play with it instead! Mom is going to take more pictures and give a list of everything other people mom's will need if they plan on having puppies in their homes. She says it's been a real learning experience. :-)

one last playtime one..

another vid

video's

Here are my children, the little wicked ones :-) Sorry it's so dark but this was taken at night when they like to play the most...

I'm such the Diva :-)

ooooh, busy, busy, busy. My social calendar is filling :-) Last night Mary Ann (my boyfriend's mom) and her daughter Monica came to visit. We had lots of fun. I got cuddles and they paid lots of attention to me and they also played with my babies. Monica and my little boy fell asleep on mom's sofa. Mary Ann says she sends my blog out to all her co-workers at Campbell's so I will wave HI to everyone there! You should let me know you're here by commenting. I would love to hear from others.

While waiting for Mary Ann and her daughter to come for a visit our neighbours Shimon and Aref came over to see me and my babies too! Aref washed his hands (so they didn't transfer the scent of his own dog onto one of my babies) and he held one of my babies. They brought Malka over too. I love Malka as well. I like to chase her everywhere but she's getting older and doesn't like it much when I do. Malka visited my mom and Charlotte while Shimon and Aref visited my babies. They were away on vacation in a place called Turkey! Yummy... Turkey!! I want to go there! I love Turkey!

Then while they were all here, Shimon, Aref, Greg and Charlotte a knock came on the door and it was Laurie! Laurie came to see my babies too. She says they are beautiful. Laurie's doggy had puppies 2 weeks ago and mom was telling her what she's in for.

Earlier in the evening Auntie Charlotte and Greg came to visit too! Greg loves me :-) I love him too. He did me a big favour and he made me a ramp! We had to make the gate higher because my littlest girl, the leader of the pack, discovered how to get the gate down and let her and her siblings escape in the middle of the night. Mom's had enough of that already so we raised the gate but that made it more difficult for me. So Greg went home (down the hall) and made me my
very own ramp! Mom gave him an old towel to cover it with. It works wonderful!! Here is a pic.

As you can see, the gate looks different too because mom went to the fabric store and bought some cheap cotton (it was called 2nd's but worked perfect for this) and made a new long sleeve to cover the tension poles. This is because the leader of the pack discovered her claws worked wonders when climbing up the screening mom had originally used. So mom got smart again and bought cheap cotton that they slide off. hahaha The next problem though, little smarty pants realized that if she got her paws up there on the top tension pole and put all her weight on it and jumped.... voila!!! it fell and everyone escaped again! So.... mom spent the night up again. Now they have put a new stronger, bigger tension pole on the top and it stays in place and my tiny terror can't bring it down or climb over any more. At least for a while. :-)

I have so much news.... My babies are now eating their very own food! I don't like that though. I want to have some too! hmmp! The nerve, feeding them and not me! I get very upset when they do that and I talk and mumble at them. Greg has never heard me talk before and he couldn't believe it when I sat behind him talking away because I wanted the puppy food too! Mom says it was very funny. We tried feeding the puppies from just 2 bowls but that didn't work too well so mom went to the $ store and picked up 6 little individual dishes. They are cat food dishes but who cares. So, here is a picture of all of us (except one that charlotte is holding) eating away. My babies knew right away how to eat solid food from a bowl. We were all amazed.

Now they are all eating, they are also all pooping. Oh joy! Speaking of pooping. My poor bum-bum. The medicine Daddy Chris gave me is working some but not enough and this morning he called my mom to tell her the results of the cultures he took to the lab. They are growing some ugly bacteria. Mom asked how? He said I could have picked it up way back and it was growing inside until it finally took over and gave me the bad runs all the time. So mom had the choice of going to pick up two new medicines for me or to take me every few days for a needle of penicillan so she said she will take the medicines. With Nanna in the hospital it will make it hard to go every few days and mom has a good way of pilling me. She says everyone should go out and buy an inexpensive mortar and pestle to crush pills. That's what she uses, her one for her kitchen stuff but she crushes my pills easily in it then sprinkles the crushed pill in a bit of soft food that I love and gobble up! Tricks me and gets my pills in me easily. I will stay home with my babies while mom runs to Chris again for me. She also called the pet insurance company to find out our deductable and is going to have the vet staff count up the bills and submit them for her to get some of the money back. She uses a good place and gets back 80%. She will have to get a policy for the baby we keep too. It pays for itself in the long run.

Everyone have a Happy Canada Day tomorrow! Mom will post a couple of video's here too for me. I have to go check on my babies now.

Monday...

Now I know why my mom hates Mondays.... we were both up all night running after me and my runs :-( At 11:00 pm last night we thought my new medicine was working but nope... at least not yet. And at about 3 am last night I was going in to feed my babies and when I jumped over the gate to get into the kitchen I knocked it down!! Babies... babies.. babies.. everywhere escaping! I barked for mom and she came and helped me get them all. She says I really wasn't much help considering I stood right in front of her while she tried to gather them up and get them on the other side of the gate again. lol Odd, she wasn't amused. Maybe it was the time.

I then left her one final huge stain on the carpet around 6:30 am. She is very happy she made the decision to have the carpet ripped up this coming weekend. Somehow between 6:30 am and 9 am I managed to hurt either my front paw or knee cause now I'm favouring it and mom doesn't know what to do. She will watch it and if it's not better by the end of the day, off to the vet again. She already has to go some time today to get my new food and the puppies food. The babies will start to eat now. They are old enough.

Mom is heading out for the day, Auntie Charlotte will babysit because one of my babies figured out how to literally climb the gate now and escape so mom has shopping to do and errands to run and make a new cloth gate instead of the netting. Seems their little claws work wonders in helping them climb that screening material..... mom never thought of that.

see ya later...

Sunday June 27th, 2010

Well, we went to the vet again today and he did another swab (I wish these people would leave that end of me alone!). Other than the fact it was runny, he said it looked good. This is a long process to find out why I have the runs. It's a process of elimination (pardon the pun). Dr. Chris thinks I may have developed an allergy! Since my regular food causes the runs and I eat only food that can be purchased strictly from the vet, and now the new "gastro" diet has me running too.... he is wondering if it's chicken I've developed an allergy to! Imagine that! He gave mom a sample of a new food, non-allergenic food and gave her a pill to make my poop back to regular. Boy, what a discussion. It's embarrassing. I wouldn't even mention it but it might help someone else in the long run. So we are waiting to see if the new food and new pill help.

In the meantime, we weighed my babies again. They are 30.8 oz, 26.3 oz, 25.6 oz, 23.7 oz, 23.7 oz, & 23.6 oz or close because they are getting to active to keep still very long. Oh, one has at least one tooth too and it likes to sink it in my mom's ankle! hahaha

That's all for today, mom is watching the news absolutely disgusted with those ugly people that were violent here. The whole city is really angry with them. They should leave our city like our Mayor says. It's the first time mom has agreed with him in a long time lol

night, night.

June 25th & 26th, 2010

Have to play catch up here. :-) Yesterday (Friday the 25th) mom turned into Linda Blair from the Exorcist. She was not happy. She went shopping for me, my babies and my nanna and when she came out of the mall (College Park) this is what she was greeted with!!

A wall of police in full riot gear!!! She never has seen so many police in this City. Not even when the Queen came to visit us. This is all because of the G20 summit in Toronto and mom is fuming about it. All that money wasted and this all makes Toronto (or Canada for that matter) look stupid and unsafe and we have even seen tv reports in the U.S. that say to stay away from our beautiful city!! I swear I saw green stuff flying out of mom's ears about this. I think her eyes rolled back in her head too! Here is also what greeted her..

She couldn't get past. She couldn't even move! Mom says this kind of thing doesn't impress her in the least and she doesn't support it either. Almost every store in the mall was closed due to this but mom didn't know why it was that way until she left the mall and was confronted by this. So, all those people that worked in that mall had to take the day off. Who is going to pay them? There are several small independant stores in there and they all had to close for the day. Mom says if you have an issue (which she does about this summit too, she thinks everyone that voted to have this summit here should lose their jobs lol. She actually thinks these gov't leaders should do these summits by video conference and save us all the grief and expense) then find another way to get your point across without causing other people hardships like losing a day's pay or an entire day's business. Mom had to stand there forever waiting for all these people to finally get past so she could get to the hospital to see nanna. Boy was she mad. Did I just see her head spin????? hmmmm

Well, onto bigger and better things... my babies!! :-) Here are some pics we took today. All of my babies can escape from the box now with ease. I had to wake mom up in the middle of the night again to help me put them all back in. I couldn't get them all together myself.

My babies have found one of my favourite places to be. Right in front of the refrigerator. Sneaky ones! They have taken my place there.

And of course, my little trouble maker. My smallest baby who seems to have figured out how to at least peek over the gate!!! Mom will have to raise the gate now but it will make it more difficult for me to get over it now. This baby is a little devil. :-)

I'm still a sicky little girl myself and we are going back to the Vet tomorrow to see Daddy Chris. I had mom up 3 times last night with wicked poopies. Mom said she never saw a dog poop water before and it wasn't nice. She felt very sorry for me and gave me a bit of pepto bismol at 4:30 am and so far, so good. I hate that stuff but mom took some Pure Bites Chicken and literally dipped it in the pink stuff and I ate it that way. It was the only way to get it into me because when I saw her original idea, in a syringe, I ran away! It was pink! I know what that colour means, stinky yukky stuff. Mom took a "sample" to the vet's office yesterday and they are going to grow cultures to see what, if anything, is going on. We have been back and forth but samples so far are showing nothing. We are all wondering if it's just the stress of the puppies and mom away a lot and nanna away all the time... and it's been pretty hot too but mom always leaves at least the fan on us if not the A/C.
