Thursday June 28th/Friday the 29th, 2007

Time to get all wound up and drive everyone nutso again. Today I ate my clock! In the middle of the night Mom got up to let me go pee and stood there at my pee pad forever but I wouldn't go. Finally she got too tired to stand there any longer, took her eyes off me for a minute and I tore off over to the plastic and pee'd between the scooters!! She found it, cleaned it and took me back to my crate until morning where she discovered that I had taken the back off my little clock that goes to bed with me because it ticks nice and loud. She picked up the clock and fixed it, snapping the back back solidly in place but after I got up for the day I ran to my crate, stole my clock out of it and mom found me in the livingroom having a grand old time with it. I managed somehow to get the back off it again! Now it's all chewed up and mom won't allow me to have it any more. No fair!!!

Mom runs a seniors program once a month and has a nice luncheon for them so she went out early and I stayed with my nanna for a while. Then nanna decided to go down (she's a senior) and she put me in my crate! I didn't like that, not during the day so I cried a bit hoping she would let me out but she didn't.

Later when they got home I confused them and pee'd where I should, then I pee'd on the plastic a while later. My mom and nanna think their lives are focused on my pee and poop and I got them running around in circles. I'm so proud of myself...... heheheheh

Friday we didn't do much because Mom was in meetings again all day. One was a meeting with the building management head office and one was a 3 hr meeting interviewing people trying to find 2 good new candidates for a committee she is on. I got lots of attention later though. We went for a ride and to the coffee shop and got Nanna a nice cold coffee with whipped cream in it, her favourite and while there I saw Uncle Ron and Mingus again! Oh....... I like Mingus and Uncle Ron always lets me kiss him and he rubs my tummy. I love my tummy rubbed. I like it when we meet up with them.

Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday.....

These days were fairly uneventful. Mom had meetings and Nanna watched over me. Other than being a little wild girl now and then and deciding that I'm never going to use the pee pad again things were quiet. I've decided that I like to pee on the plastic the scooters sit on for now on and pooh on the carpet beside it!! Freaks out my mom and nanna though. Mom threatened me with obiedence school. There's one just over on Church St. My auntie Sheri thinks this is all funny. I can't wait to meet her but she lives a long way away and is moving farther too next weekend.

Sunday June 24th, 2007

grrrrrr my mom really needs to learn how to share this computer. I never get time at it much to get caught up on the important stuff....... me! :-) Today we went to the Pride Parade! We sat back this year though, in the shade so I was protected and didn't get overheated. We stayed and watched the whole parade! It was loud, full of music, people dancing and lots and lots of fun! I loved it. I hope they take me next year too where they usually sit but we'll have to get me something to block the sun because it gets real hot where they usually sit.

I believe the best part of the day was all the people that came over to play with me and be my friends. This one guy was taking pictures of me. My mom wrote him out the url of the blog and asked him to email the pictures and maybe even blog about meeting me but he didn't email the pictures :-( Bad man!!!

Note..... I'm driving my mom and nanna crazy. I've decided I don't like my pee pads and I pee on the plastic the scooters sit on now all the time!! and I poop there too but sometimes I'm so evil and I poop on the carpet!!!! They are not happy campers and are beside themselves..... yeahhhhh puppy power!! I own this place!!!

Saturday June 23rd, 2007

I am so trying to get all caught up but my mom hogs the computer and my little paws only type so fast. Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd my mom and nanna hogged the entire days to themselves. Mom had meetings on Friday and Saturday was a day of running errands all over the place. Mom got upset when she found out her favourite Black's Photography store was closing down. She has used it for many years in the Cumberland Mall at Bloor & Yonge. Mom is a photography nut. She even had her 15 minutes of glory when the Toronto Star published a photo she took of a fire on the front page and gave her full photography credit and even paid her! Wow.... Anyway, after going here and there for a few hours we went down to Church St. to scooter around and check out the Pride festivities for that day.

I have never been petted so much in my life!! Everyone wanted to pet me. So many oooooh's..... and 'oh so cute's' and all sorts of people came up to my mom and asked if they could pet me and she said yes. I was in my glory!! All this attention, I must not let it go to my curly little head.

Thurs. June 21st, 2007

This is a big day for my mom, she has a long day ahead of her. First she has a booth at a Community Safety Fair from 2 - 5:30 then she has a BBQ from 5:30 - 8 pm and in between get the volunteers together to chop up enough salad for 1000 people.

Good thing she got up early because I'm a sick puppy :-( My tummy isn't feeling well and I threw up a bit then I threw up some more and it was a yukky yellow colour. Mom called the Vet right away and off we went. Dr. Drabant looked me over and checked me out top to bottom. He thinks it's a reaction to my needle yesterday. Did I tell you he's my namesake? The Christa part of my name is for Dr. Christopher Drabant and the Ligia part of my name is for his Technician named Ligia. :-) He gave me a shot of antibotics to be on the safe side and another shot of something to help calm my upset tummy. Then he gave me this huge needle of water subcutaneously. I didn't like that, about half way through I yelped. It left a big bump where it was because it slowly absorbs into me. Mom and Nanna felt so bad for me.

We came home and rested for a while. Mom had to leave at 1 pm so Nanna watched over me. Later that night I was feeling much better so Nanna put me in her scooter and we went to meet mom at the BBQ. I met a lot of nice people there.... here are some of them...

This guy is Trevor LeBlanc and he was the D.J. for the day at the BBQ. He was fabulous. I really liked his music and as you can see below so did a lot of other people.

These kids loved to dance to Trevor's music.

See all the people in the picture on the left? Wow, there were so many. They came for the music and the BBQ. We live in a very Multi-Cultural area and everyone joins in. I like where I live. In the picture on the right are some of the volunteers for this BBQ. That's my Nanna there in the scooter. And my Auntie Barb and Auntie Charlotte and my Auntie V. Auntie Barb has two older boy doggies and one of them is blind. But he doesn't seem to realize it! And my Auntie Charlotte (in the purple top) has a Huskie named Shyanne. I'm not allowed to play with Shyanne though because she thinks I'm a toy. She's a big strong doggy.

And last but not least, this is my Auntie Barb sticking her tongue out at my mom who has stopped serving up salad to go take some pictures. Later that night when we got home we all had a snooze.

Wed. June 20th, 2007

*snicker**snicker* Mom is off cleaning up after my "accident" so I'm stealing the computer. It's payback for going to the Vet today! They took me to get a needle! I didn't like it, so I'm giving a bit of attitude. Someone told my mom that I might be lethargic after my needle and maybe even get a bit of a fever like a kid would after a vaccination but I didn't. I was my spunky self.

Tuesday June 19th/2007

Quickie catch-up here. I have learned my name! At least most the time.. If you call me I'll come or I'll at least pay attention. I've also learned how to bark, a lot! I've found that I like barking. And growling too! I get all excited and I literally jump then I squat down like I'm going to pounce on something and I start barking. Sometimes I quiet down when I'm told to shhhh but most the time I just bark at them when they tell me to be quiet. Ahhhhh the life of a puppy.

TA DA...... new tricks!

(Monday June 18th, 2007) Mom went to get coffee so I'm at the keyboard again getting caught up. I've had another eventful week this week and I'll be adding to this to get caught up, but this week was not as fun eventful as last week. I can't wait for the weekend, it's Pride Week in Toronto and we're going to see the parade.

Anyway, I learned a couple of new tricks. The first one is called "crating myself"! My mom and nanna are so proud of this one. I went missing yesterday and they weren't sure where I was and my mom found me all tucked away relaxing in my crate! Turns out I like this thing :-) There's a nice cushy towel in the bottom, one of mom's t-shirts so it smells like her and a clock that tick-tocks away so I don't feel so alone at night or when I go in it. I've learned crating rather fast and now I've gone on to self crating. I am one smart cookie!!

And here's another new trick I learned. Just as mom was shutting all the lights out to go to bed she turned around and here I was, coming out of the washroom with a big role of toilet paper in my mouth. Mom couldn't help but laugh because the roll was as big as my head almost and I looked quite proud of myself. By the time she grabbed the camera and turned it on I was having a good time as you can see. Mom grabbed a very quick pic and then took the toilet paper and bits away from me. I didn't know it was bad for me. I'm just a puppy but it was real fun while I had it. Odd, the bathroom door is always closed now. hmmmmmmmmm

Oh, I learned another trick too... or I should say, unlearned. I am now pee-pee'ing and even doing my other business where I shouldn't!!! All this time I've been so good and doing it on the pee pads where I should but a day or so ago I decided I wanted to start going on the plastic that my mom keeps her scooter on. So, I go on my pee pad and then the next time I go on the plastic. Mom thought she'd be smart and put fresh plastic down in case there was a scent but that was fruitless because I went there again anyway. Back and forth..... Every time I go where I should I get lots of praise and a treat and when I go where I shouldn't I get nothing but I still do it. This is driving them crazy. Once where I should, then once where I shouldn't and nothing they do changes it yet. Mom is threatening me with obedience school.

My new collar broke today too! The company has this little plastic logo/emblem on it and it came off and stuck to my fur and mom had to cut it out. The collar is a couple of days old! No one in our household is very impressed with this and when my mom contacted the company, they tried to blame me! Not their product!! That sucks. Mom no longer trusts this company's stuff and will never use it again. I don't like it either.

*pant**pant**pant*

Holy heck it was hot out there today (Sunday June 17th, 2007). Now I'm home and I'm sitting in the a/c and the computer chair is empty, I'm going to start to tell you about my adventures today. Woof Woof!! I have lots of pictures too! We went down to the Music Garden and all over the place. My mom told me I'd love the Music Garden and I did. I'm surprised at how few people in Toronto know about this place. It's at the base of Lower Spadina and Queens Quay.

Off we started on our adventure today around noon. We always start around noon because my mom and nanna are old and take a while to get ready! heheheh
When we got to Richmond & Bay Sts. we took a rest and my mom gave me my water. She always carries my water bottle and a dish for me. As you can see, I had my drink then decided to play with the container. I also enjoyed running around and getting my leash all tangled up too.

Holy Moly!! Look! A puppies paradise! Look at all the grass and trees and shrubs! Oh I'm going to love this place. And look, I found another new friend :-) This one's name is "Mourning Dove". It has it's mate with it but the mate walked away just before my mom got the pic. I guess she was camera shy.

I have so many pictures of my day to show you. We had a great time. It was really hot though so we stopped a lot and I had lots to drink. We saw so many sights and so many people. People are funny. Especially the women. A lot of them say "ooooooh" in a squeeky voice when they see me. Little kids like me too. I should try to get mom to take pics of kids with me but she doesn't ask because a lot of parents don't like that these days. Maybe we can try some time though. I still want to know why lady people say "oooooooooooh" though. It's a funny sound. And it's always followed with "look at the puppy!" then another "oooooooh". Then they say "She's sooooo cute"! I just love the attention.

After a bit it was time for another long cold drink of water and some time in the shade. Here I am cooling off by the waterfront where all the big boats are anchored by the Music Garden. I'm playing with my rope toy. There were these huge purple flowers everywhere and little white ones. I wanted to sniff them but they were much taller than me and really big too!!

We scootered all around, me, my mom and my nanna. It was such a beautiful day out. I saw flowers and ducks and swans!! WOW. I even saw a grasshopper. We decided it was time to go home and on the way home, just a bit down Queen's Quay the City of Toronto has built a new area that's full of yellow umbrella's and wood lawn chairs and a huge sandbox for the people to go in! Holy cow I want to dive in that sand! Look.......... a sea of yellow umbrella's...... and see the big sandbox?? I want to come here again some time and play in that sandbox with all the kids. They were making sand castles.

We stayed there for a while and checked it all out then we finally headed for home when we discovered a Swiss Chalet!! A new one by the Harbour Police station area. Yahooooo food! Mom is a grump though and only gave me one very small piece of well cooked chicken meat. We had a really nice waiter on the patio though and his name was David and he brought me a big glass of nice fresh cold water that my mom poured in my carry dish and quenched my thirst. After dinner almost all the way home I met this one last friend for the day. Her name is Painted Lady and she's a butterfly.

Wow! What an eventful day!!

(Saturday June 16th, 2007) Boy oh boy, my mom and nanna weren't kidding when they said they had another adventure for me. This City is a big place. First we started out around noon and went to go to the $ store at Bay & College but right before that store was a place called Bobo's for doggie and kitty stuff! Bobo is a doggie :-) The store owners doggie. We went in and he treated me really nice and my mom bought some stinky stuff to spray on the furniture so I won't eat things I'm not suppose to. I also got bows!! I got a pretty purple one that I have on in this picture. It's the best shot my mom could get because she took this later in the day and I was wiped out and snoozing in her scooter basket. And I got a pretty pink heart too. I love girly stuff. After that store we went all the way up to Bathurst & Dundas to Balloon King so we can buy new plastic for under mom's scooter since I did my business on it a couple of times and she needed a new roll.

After that long trip, before we went home we went to Riverdale Park again. I really like this place. Although I'm not allowed to go on the grass much until I've had my last shot, the park is full of interesting people and their pets too.

Look who I met!! I can't remember this feisty little Pugs name but he was really likeable. And he wanted to lick me! Look at that tongue! His daddy held him up so we could meet for a little bit. Once I have all my shots (he has all his) I can play with him in the park if we meet again.

On the way home from Riverdale Park my mom and nanna decided to stop at a coffee shop and get a nice cold iced coffee for my nanna. It was a hot day. I had lots of water all day because my mom takes cold filtered water with her and a dish for me to drink it in. But, my nanna was wilting and needed a icy coffee.
While sitting outside the coffee shop I met another new friend. This little boy is named Mingus and Mingus lives in the same building I live in!! Mingus is a Shih-Tzu and lives with his dad. Mingus is very handsome and I can't wait to get down and play with him too. mmmmm my my, all these handsome boys. Time to go home and unwind from my adventure. I'm told there's yet another one waiting for me tomorrow!!! yehawwwwww

T.G.I.F.

Friday!! It's now Friday June 15th, 2007 and I have a couple of surprises for my mom and nanna. Up until now I've only had one 'accident'. My very first night I pee pee'd on the carpet underneath the diningroom table. After that I've been doing all my business on the pee pads they bought for me. I woke up today and thought it was time to shake things up a bit so I wandered over to the plastic that my mom's scooter sits on so it doesn't dirty the carpet and I squat. I left her a nice little puddle! What a shock! My mom and nanna were beside themselves because I had been so good up to now. So they took me to my pee pad and then cleaned up my puddle and just as they relaxed and figured they had it fixed, I went over to the plastic and did my other business!!! heheheh. I can be so bad at times. After I did that I looked at them with "those" eyes and they melted. Gotcha mom and nanna!

Later that night we went out for a walk with Malka and Aref. We went to park down the street and I was allowed to play in the grass with Malka and it was great fun. Everyone watched me so I didn't sniff anything I shouldn't (I still have to go for my last shot) and so I didn't eat any grass or visit with any dogs we didn't know. It was just me and Malka though and I wore her out. We didn't stay out too long because we had another adventure to go for tomorrow.

When I got home I was still wired for sound and started running as fast as I could all over the apt. Finally I settled down after trying to eat the sofa. Mom put me in my crate and I just whined a wee bit then went to lala land.

Day 3.......

It's now Thursday June 14th, 2007. I have a lot of catching up to do here and mom still isn't confiscating the computer. This was an eventful day too. Again, last night I was crated and I decided it was time to let my mom and nanna know that I seriously don't like this so I cried and whined and even barked pretty much on and off all night but my mom stuck to her guns and didn't give in. Boy, she's stubborn! I've been told today I'm going to have a new adventure and look how happy I am!

As you can see, I've been harnessed and although you can't see it here there is this nice big cushy towel in the scooter basket and I'm quite comfy if I do say so myself. We are motoring down towards the old Riverdale Zoo! I wonder if I'll be able to play in the grass. On the way to Riverdale we saw lots of interesting things. Look at what we saw along the way! Flowers! Pretty ones too but my mom wouldn't let me close because I eat everything in sight. And that fountain was really cool too. Made me want to tinkle! hehehe

Sorry if these pictures aren't so nice and neat but I'm a puppy and it's very difficult to type with paws! Centering these is a whole other matter. I want to bark at this editor thing blogger uses but if I do then my mom will know I've sneeked up on the chair and am at the computer.

Day 2..... we're off and running!

(Wednesday June 13th, 2007) Time to grab the computer while mom isn't at it.... I am here to announce that I don't like "crating". I don't like it much at all. When mom put me in my pretty purple crate last night at bedtime I started to whine. I whined for about 5 minutes and she ignored me of all the nerve! Around 5 am I decided to start to whine again but mom just slept in the bed beside me. hmmmm I must think of a way to get back at her for this.

Surprise mom and Nanna!! Remember that calm little girl you brought home from the Vet? I'm not calm anymoreeeeeeeee hehehehe I'm starting to sniff around. I'm even getting bold and I'm checking out the kitchen! Wow...... nice...... food!! I like food. I remember Malka's nice soft food from last night that I gobbled up. What's this though? Yuk! It's hard! Excuse me, I want the good stuff please. My mom doesn't seem to understand me and my needs. I'll get her attention, I'll go over to my fancy smancy pee pads my mom bought to train me with and I'll pee on it just for her. Look what I did mom!! Oh boy, she likes that, I'm getting praise and hey! I'm getting a treat! Wow... I like treats. Now if I can just convince her to give me Malka's soft food. I know, I'll go pooh too on my pee pads.... hmmmm more great praise, and another yummy liver treat too but still hard food *sigh*. Mom tells me we are going to go out today for an adventure with nanna.

My new mom is disabled and has to use a scooter for mobility outside so I ride in her scooter basket!! This is fun! I have room to lay down and snooze while we boggie along.

We are going to the pet store in the neighbourhood. Mom tells me I need a harness and some toys. I like toys, I like chewing on everything in sight. I was allowed to go inside this store and the people there just loved me. I have a nice new bright pink harness and a new kong and a little purple doggy of my own. I like my doggy! As soon as I got home I started to play with it and I shake the heck out of it. Here I am after our outing and lots of fresh air and playtime at home. I'm zoned out with my new purple puppy.

Sunday, June 17, 2007

Later that 1st day....

(late Tuesday June 12th, 2007)
We left our neighbours for a while and I went home to snooze. Us puppies do that a lot. In between incredible bursts of energy we snooze the day along. After my nap we went back over to Malka's again so Malka's mommy can meet me too. Malka's mommy thought I was the cutest thing since Malka. I ran all over and played and played. I jumped on Malka too! And ran under her tummy. After all this running around we decided to stop and eat, this time we ate together all of Malka's food. My mom wasn't too happy with this though because Malka has soft food and I have the hard stuff that's good for puppies and my teeth. Oh well.... it's in me now!! And in about 30 minutes it will be on mom's carpet!

Ummmmm I had a little accident!! Actually a big one! On my new neighbours sofa!!! Oh goodness..... shame on me. Look what I did! I was so excited to meet new friends and all the running around and all the drinking Malka's water and eating her food and playing when Uncle Shimon put me on the sofa and all the adults got yakkin away and not really watching me...... well....... I squated!! All of a sudden Uncle Shimon noticed but it was too late and I left a nice size puddle on the sofa cover for them.

Oh my..... I was so embarrassed. When everyone noticed what I did and my mom and nanna were mortified and my neighbours were laughing I went down to the end of the sofa where the pillows were and I wiggled my way down through them and tried to hide.

After a couple of minutes Malka came over to me and told me it was ok. That I didn't have to hide. That she did this too when she was a puppy :-) *sigh* My friend Malka :-)
After this adventure I went home for the night. And that's when I pooped on the carpet!

My first day.....

My first day (Tuesday June 12th, 2007) was quite eventful. My new mom and nanna came to adopt me from Dr. Drabant at the Riverdale Animal Hospital. If you want to learn more about where I can from there's a link right here on the right side of this page above my profile.
I went to my new home by taxi with a load of goodies going with me that included a nice comb and a brush, lots of food, some yukky pills for deworming, special shampoo for white doggies and stuff to keep the yellow off my fur around my eyes. Ohhhh I'm spoiled!! :-)

When I got home my new mom and nanna took me across the hall to meet my neighbours. I live in an apt. now. I was so happy to meet my neighbours. First person I saw was my new Uncle Shimon and he just loved me. And then..... oh joy, oh joy, I met Malka!!! This is Malka in the picture with me. Isn't she sweet? Malka is a 3 year old Shih Tzu. She lives across the hall from me. Malka (means Queen in Hebrew) was impressed with me..... for a few minutes..... until I decided I was hungry and I headed right for her food and helped myself without asking. As you can see, I have a healthy appetite. After I ate all of Malka's food her dad got her some of her own.

In the beginning......

I am starting this blog because I am Christaligia, puppy extrodinaire!! Since I came home with my new people mom and nanna I've been running them ragged. They had no idea what they were in for and I give them "the eyes" and they melt. Although I've been in my new home for a few days now I'm late getting this blog started. I'm late getting started because my people mom won't move from the keyboard and it's crowded here so we've developed a way for both of us to sit on the chair in front of the puter so I can type. She's so possessive of this computer, she needs to learn to share more :-)

I'm going to be adding to this whenever I can manage to get the computer chair to myself. Either that or start working on the laptop :-) I am hoping that my adventures bring other puppies and pets adventures too. You can communicate with me through here if you like and you can add to my blog too! It's fun. When you add to my blog my people mom will get the message and she will add it. I would like to see your pictures too of your adventures so please click on the "comments" link and send your comments along. To send your pictures just email me at riverdaleanimalhospital at gmail dot com. You know how to do that! I just have to write it funny so it's not spidered by the search engines and fills up with spam. See? I'm not only cute, I'm smart! I'm Extrodinaire!!

I think that I should stop calling my people mom a "people" mom. She's getting a complex already. She's such a weiner.... oh, speaking of which, I saw the cutest weiner dog while we were out the other day but I didn't get a picture. I must see if we run into each other some other time and I'll get a photo op of him/her.

I'm off for a bit to get a nice cool drink of water and to play. After all, I am a puppy! I'll start writing soon and putting up pictures too.
